Zandronum

Hey people, I am a part of a company that does Lets Play videos, mainly of Minecraft (Feed The Beast), various Pokemon games and a bunch of one offs. We usually feature about 2 to 6 people per video like so: Anywho, my question is: Does anybody know of any really entertaining Zandronum multiplayer based wads to record? I have been meaning to get more into recording custom doom material since I have been involved with the engine for so long. Thus far I have only recorded beta tests within my own project Halodoom, but I would like to expand this.

you can try Samsara with Alien Vendetta and Hell Revealed 1-2, they are very popular megawads, but they are pretty hardcore too, so maybe you should try something more "softy" like Requiem, Scythe 1/2 or even Memento Mori 1/2. theres Ghouls VS Humans Legacy of Darkness too, a pretty popular team based mod. but if you want something more original, try All Out War 2, the matches are long, but its funny if theres no trolls/griefers in your team.

I think you can play anything as long as you do it in a good way, and not just "lets do this as it comes along while we do random stuff".
If you play anything teambased, then play as a team, it will encourage others to play as teams as well.
Example: If you play aow, then dont just run around going for frags, try to actually find a new and fresh way to get the other team down, instead of just going stealth c4 and shit. Maybe set up a specific set of things you exclude from the match.

Excellent, i'll have to look in to all of these suggestions then, thanks! Are any of these particularly suited for a 2v2 size of game? Or even cooperative? Stuff like unique Invasion maps and whatnot would also be very well suited to our style.

Hmm, alright i'll keep that in mind. The sort of videos that we do are also very comedy based, so I have to find something that isn't just strictly competitive as well so we could squeak a bit of comedy out of it lol.

I suggest WDI, just be sure there are no trolls around.

you can try to play 2vs2 in GvH, but its funnier when theres more people, think on it like a team fortress 2 server, the more people the more variety of classes. But in AOW2, its not a good idea, cause it kinda is like a teamwork based game, you require of a team of at least 6 players which most fill different rolls. About invasion: Armaggedon 2 and Delta Invasion are good invasion wads, and theres compatibility patches for play them with Samsara, which gives some more varietty to the game. if you want to try out that of 2vs2 try to play some old-school dm wads, like the stock maps from Skulltag, UDM 1-3 or greenwar, they may be good for it

In all seriousness however, you can do any wad and LP it anyways, regardless. Avoid bad joke wads though.. You will have a bad time.

Scythe 2's later maps get really slaughtery, so I wouldn't consider it less hardcore than AV. It is a fantastic megawad, though.

IMO Hell Revealed hasn't aged very well, though your mileage may vary.

It depends if you're a decent or a new doomer, if you're a decent one I would recommend scythe, hell revealed, alien vendetta and so on. If you're a new player I would recommend that you just play the normal doom, doom 2, master levels...
