Description | I have been making a mod for a couple years now that takes advantage of "limitedtoteam" DECORATE function to define a variety of interesting teams that are all randomized between in ACS along with map patches for 2 team gameplay using 4 or more teams. However, I eventually hit a limit saying that only 4 can be defined. I have since made some custom builds that have since been pushed to Q-Zandronum that up the limit to 16. However, the issue lies within the bot skirmish menu, when executing the menu, due to the CVARs for bots being static, the game crashes if you do not add more of those CVARs (which is how Q-Zandronum gets around it). However the way I see it, Most players will not be using more than 2-3 teams on a map almost ever, but in order to allow modders more potential freedom to do whatever they want with TEAMINFO, upping this limit, which is so close to being a simple variable change, just makes sense to me. The simplest fix I can think of is treating any team beyond 4 as non-existent to the menu, avoiding the crash, and hopefully allowing this limit to be almost removed. The other 2 options are: Adding more CVARs to the bot menu, which is messy. Or overhauling that entire menu for an almost useless modding feature. |
