Summary | 0000958: Pressing fire to respawn - Detrimental in competitive gamemodes |
Description | This feature can cause a player to unwillingly respawn - e.g while in a fight, the player unsuccesfully tries to attack the enemy, dying in the process - the fire button press causes him to respawn unintentionally, sometimes being costful (Such as in a BFG situation in 1 on 1, or when the enemy is at a vantagous spot).

Additional Information | The only port to implement this feature is Zandronum,and I think that making it a toggle option on the client side or removing it altogether will help the competitive side of Zandronum. |

Forgot to mention something trivial : at the moment you can respawn by either pressing the "fire" button or the "open" button - I think that an option to restrict it to "open" only will cause less unnecessary deaths and further improve the quality of competitive play in this port :) |

Doesn't this feature also allow you to instantly shoot your weapon as soon as you respawn unlike Zdaemon ? I thought it did. |

Yes, and that, by the way, can cause weapon desyncs (weapons seem as if they are firing but nothing goes out) quite often at higher (120+) pings. |
