Summary0000864: Blacklist for vote kick/vote map change/ etc. ?
DescriptionI like having vote kick enabled, though the problem is, the only thing I can do if somebody abuses is it is to ban them. I don't really care if they play, I just don't want them kicking people for no reason.

Would it be hard to make a blacklist of ips that are not allowed to call votes or vote?

This shouldn't be hard to do, but I question if it's really necessary. Have any other online games have this problem? If so, what was there solution? Or, is there a simpler solution?

I can't think of another game at the moment with vote kick. From my experience in the games I've played if somebody needs to be removed from a server the only way to do it is to contact an admin. If I recall correctly that's how TF2, World of Warcraft, and Minecraft work.

Don't get me wrong, I much prefer having vote kick over no vote kick at all, the only disadvantage is it gives everyone moderating power. I've seen two or three people join a server in a group, then proceed to vote kick everyone who joins afterwards. In that same server I've seen vote kick used very helpfully.

Also vote kick abuse doesn't really justify a ban from the game, in my opinion. They can continue to join the server and play, I just don't want them playing moderator.

This happens a lot on AOW. Some trolls sabotage our of defenses and we can't do anything about it. I strongly support this.

I was thinking of a 'bad list' of IPs where they can't talk or call votes

I like that idea water, but I'd still like a separate list for vote ability.

I guess if there was somebody who spammed chat constantly with binds or something it could come in handy to be able to stop certain users from chatting.

If I could keep morons from vote kicking everybody but their friends I'd only need to ban cheaters which would be great.
