Summary | 0000591: Add chat bubbles, taunting and runes being displayed in HUD to Heretic & Hexen |
Description | Well, when I play Heretic or Hexen with Skulltag, players don't have chat bubbles above them when they are chatting. Also, when I play for example Hexentic Medeival invasion (invasion wad for Heretic), there are runes, they work well but they are not displayed in HUD, so players don't know which rune they have.
And there is no taunting in base skins for Heretic and Hexen classes, so adding taunting for them would be great (at least add the basic Doom Marine's taunt).
That's all features I know that work in Doom but not in Heretic and Hexen (Strife probably too), but this suggestion is rather generally about any features working only in Doom and not in other games. So please add them to Heretic and Hexen. |

The chat bubble, and lag icon are also missing in Chex Quest and Chex Quest 3, it seems pointless to need to add them again in a PWAD like I did, since they aren't specific to Doom.

* bump *
Please, resolve this, it should be easy. It would much help when playing Heretic & Hexen or its mods like Medeival Invasion. This applies for Chex too. |

Moving the icons to skulltag.pk3 from skulltag_data.pk3 should suffice to fix this. |

I moved the ally, chat and rune sprites to skulltag.pk3, but I'm hesitant about the taunt sound. IMHO it doesn't fit well with Heretic or Hexen. |

Heretic's taunt sound could be the *evillaugh sound IMO. In Hexen, fighter could use Orion's skin's one and either the cleric or mage could have the same one as Heretic's *evillaugh.
Just my $.2 :)

IMHO it doesn't really matter whether it fits or not. It's simply a ST feature and the sound happens to be the default taunt sound. I'd move it to the pk3 if I were you. |

Just moving dstaunt.wav to skulltag.pk3 is not enough though, this also requires changes in sndinfo.txt. And if we need to make additions to sndinfo.txt we can also think about whether there are more appropriate sounds available. |

I see. I wasn't aware of this. |
