There is a command to allow chasecam without needing to set sv_cheats to true: sv_chasecam. Coop/Survival servers use this feature. |
|
|
|
By the way, chasecam can be enabled even if sv_chasecam==0. While spectating, use chasecam (cross should disappear) and after join you will be chasecamed (works for survival at least, not sure for other game modes). |

Does this still work in 98e? |

Just tested out and can definely tell it does.
Here's a way of reproducing on Survival game mode example:
1. Start a server with Survival and 1 live and chasecam disabled.
2. Join and add bot(s).
3. Suicide.
4. While spectating, use chasecam (cross should disappear).
5. Do changemap (or nextmap): you will appear chasecamed. |

I followed your directions, but I could not reproduce it in 98E r3299. After the changemap I was not using chasecam, even though I was using chasecam while I was spectating. Do you have a demo of this bug?

I watched your demo, and I tried to replicate it in my own server in Doom2.wad, I could not, even though the conditions were the same.
Perhaps it is something specific to Zombie Horde.
EDIT - if anyone reading this is familiar with Zombie Horde, and if you have some reason or speculation as to why this happens, that information would be useful in finding the problem here.

I can't reproduce this in 98e, so I'm closing this for the time being. If somebody manages to reproduce this in the latest 98e beta build, please reopen this issue. |
