Summary | 0000521: Allow server option to see player stats while spectating / spynext |
Description | While the default behavior is to disallow observing the statistics of players you spynext I would like to see an option / cvar serverside where you could enable/disable this functionality.
The reasoning for this is while there can be trouble players who tell teammates who is doing what, where and at what health/armor, watching other players play at seemingly constant full health is counter-intuitive if you are watching how good players handle various situations. That and if competitive games were to be casted, the casters themselves would not know the situation of the game.
Adding a server-side switch for this would appease to both crowds and allow server hosters more control over spectating functionality. |

As of this writing the issue is still present in 3.1
A server var to control it in pvp modes would be appreciated |

on a tspg linux server, sv_donthidestats works just fine
however on a local windows server, ive found 2 issues
1: when turning sv_donthidestats off, spectators will be forced to stop spying, as if they called the "spycancel" cmd (cl_identifytarget will also show themselves for a moment)
2: if sv_donthidestats is on when a client connects, it will stay on for that client |

using ZandroDev3.2-221030-0316windows-x86_64 the 2 windows bugs mentioned in 0000521:0022416 are fixed and linux still seems to work fine |

Since the two bugs that WaTaKiD mentioned have been fixed, and sv_donthidestats still works as intended, I marked this ticket as resolved. |
