0000050: [98d-2937] Box of Shotgun Shells not getting ammo updated to clients
Just as the title of the bugs says. Clients are not informed about the ammo picked up from Box of Shotgun Shells. I haven't tested other ammo, but this sure doesn't work for Box of Shotgun Shells. This did not happen in 2914.
Join a online game in 98d-2937. Pick up Box of Shotgun Shells.
I think it might have to do with this in 2937: "Fixed: When picking up a weapon that uses some special type of ammo online for the first time, a client didn't get the correct ammo type the weapon was supposed to give."

Confirmed. Same goes for Cell/CellPack for plasma rifle/BFG 9000, Clip/ClipBox for pistol/chaingun, Shell/ShellBox for shotgun/SSG and RocketAmmo/RocketBox for RL/GL.

Example, if you pick up a box of shells, the ammo isn't updated and if you fire all your pellers, the weapon switches to the next one with ammo. But if you then pick up shells, your shell ammo will be 24 instead of 4.

You are right, this is caused by the change you mentioned. I looked further into the issue and found out that the bug this change was meant to fix is not a Skulltag bug at all, but a bug in the example wad.
