Is this an improvement to an already-existing feature, or a new feature entirely?
Improvement.

If an improvement, what original feature is it improving upon?
Respawn thing flag; if it's turned on the server can choose to make it working as the old way or how I'm going to suggest.

How would this work?
When respawn is enabled in the server the items keep to respawn until the map is over. What I'm purposing is to bind the number of times the items respawn to the number of players, disabling the respawn if just one person is playing on the server, making items respawning one time if there are 2 players, two times if there are 3 players and so.

Can you give an example in how useful this feature would be?
I play only survival-cooperative almost and I think this would greatly improve this game mode.
When I play it I find the levels too easy if the item respawn is turned on, as much they are hard when it's turned off and someone pickup the ammunitions and dies, leaving to the other players in an hard situation.
This feature can be used also improve the invasion-cooperative game mode. I have played this mode 3/4 times totally and I don't know how it works excactly the respawn items thing so. (Is the item's respawn controlled by a map's plug-in or is it controlled by the server? No clue about this, but this feature could -at least- give the chance to build new maps with a different item's placement and all in all, if you have understood what I tried to purpose, this can improve the invasion thing under my point of view.
I know there would be much code to write and if I could help I would do it, anyway thank you for considering this feature.

I like this idea, though I don't know how complicated it would be to implement. I also need to intertwine this into another ticket I have planned, so I will hopefully revisit this later if I remember.
