Description

If you find a new friend while playing the game and wish to keep in touch, a friend request feature would be a nice and neat little thing to have. It would work when both clients are logged into their accounts. The feature would perhaps be present in the "Player List" menu.
Although people can interact further outside the game in other ways, supporting it in-game with the account database would increase a sense of connectedness between the in-game experience and account database and forums on the main site.

What would happen is that a player would send out a friend request to another player in-game, and then if the other player accepted, it would link both accounts to the database and check whether both accounts are valid and/or already friends, and if accepted, both accounts would become friends on the main account database site. Friend accounts could in turn send each other PM messages that are pinged out and printed as chat messages to the in-game experience.

By the same token, the'https://auth.zandronum.com [^]' site should be updated to implement a feature that enables users to add other accounts as friends on the site itself.
