In all fairness, this is more of an issue when playing in windowed mode at small resolutions. Feel free to decline this if it seems too trivial. |

I wouldn't mind changing the subtext colour to grey (making it consistent with the colour scheme used in the large frag messages). Is it necessary to print the timer in a different colour though or can we keep everything on that line grey? |

I think it would maybe look a bit too bland with the whole string being gray. My intention was to make the countdown numbers stand out a bit more from the text preceding them.
I think making the numbers gray would be the best option without disrupting the old familiar look too much if it were to be changed. |

I see. In that case, I still like using grey for the subtext and red for the counter more since it contrasts better with the big font that usually shows the name of the game mode. |

I hate to say it, but after playing with it for a while, I'm not really feeling it with the new color scheme. I think it's too bright and distracting as a text in the middle. Could we try to change the numbers to gray instead, or simply revert it? Do you think it looks cool? I know it's consistent with the large frag messages, but the text is much bigger in comparison, so it sticks out a lot more. |

I think it's okay for what it's worth. Personally, I find it easier to read grey-coloured text versus red-coloured text anyways, and since this only appears during the countdown, I don't think it's too bad of a distraction, if it really is. It's at least distinguishing the timer in the "match begins in" message better, right?
I don't really want to backpedal and revert or keep changing the colour scheme for an otherwise trivial issue, unless it's a problem for the majority of players. However, it's already been two weeks since a public beta with this change was released, and I haven't heard any complaints yet. |

I think it's fine to keep. It especially looks better when you remove the big text. Marking as resolved unless there is a massive uprising against this change. |

Guys, I'm very sorry for re-opening this, and hate being a pain for this, but I think I figured out why I didn't quite like the change so far. The message looks great in Heretic in Hexen with the all-gray coloring, but the colored numbers for Doom and Strife look a bit jarring in comparison.
So I have one final proposition: Should we go with Kaminsky's better suggestion of making the entire line gray? It would unify the visuals between all the iwads and make it look consistent. See the attached screenshot, Doom and Strife sticks out in comparison. Strife in particular looks really scuffed with the colored numbers that are mismatched to the main text. |

This comes at an inopportune time when we're trying to get the next (and hopefully last) 3.2 beta released ASAP. However, since this is a very simple change, I'll see what I can do. |

I tested the pipeline build earlier, and it looks much better, cleaner and consistent across the iwads this way! Thank you very much. Apologize again for the setback. Marking as resolved since I assume it will get pulled in. |
