0004203: New, improved Ally/Teammate and Enemy icons
I edited the original sprite to something more modern and less intrusive, while still keeping it in the same style. What do you think?

It makes it look less cluttered and more refined, IMHO. Easier on the eyes.

I'm lazy so I just recolored it red for a possible enemy icon.

Inspired by Ru5tK1ng, I updated the enemy icon to use better colors for the software renderer.

I made a regular sized one and an alternate version that is slightly smaller, which could be used to differentiate better between the ally and enemy icons during intense battle.

Ok, so I made a final enemy icon since the other ones I made earlier were not satisfactory. I felt they had too strong contrasts and banding in dark areas. Red colors in particular are hard to get right in the software renderer.

I made sure to be very careful with the color light levels so the icon doesn't appear any brighter or fade away too late compared to the player when in dark areas, for maximum vanilla compatibility. The icon also looks consistent between the software and OpenGL renderer without any ugly banding on the software renderer.

After double-checking the ally icon with the software renderer and testing it with some deathmatch wads that alter the palette (udm3.wad and udmx.wad), I noticed the ally icon was not as bright as the stock Skulltag version in darker areas, and it was not green enough, so it would use wrong colors in those wads. It should be fixed and look good and clear now, and match the old Skulltag icon better.

Sorry about that, I won't touch it anymore now before 3.2.

I'd appreciate it if you'd update the ally icon on the heptapod site, Kaminsky. Thanks.

I said I wasn't going to touch it, but found out that it didn't look quite right in Hexen and Strife (the old Skulltag icon was also affected). The games change the palette up so the brightest colors are actually darker. Some bright pixels in the upper left were sticking out like a sore thumb and made it look cheap, so I lowered the value of them to fix it.

It should look fine in all iwads now, in addition to pwads that alter the palette slightly.
