Summary | 0004161: Back to Saturn X E3 palette bug | ||||
Description | When playing the recently-released 5-map teaser for Back to Saturn X episode 3 (at least with Software Rendering), white pixels on several sprites (especially enemy sprites) ignore map lighting, resulting in ugly full-bright splotches on the affected graphics. Especially noticeable on the revenant's armor. Textures and flats do not seem to be affected. Apparently this issue exists because Zandronum somehow struggles with the custom PLAYPAL of this wad; a very similar issue happened with Knee-Deep in Knee-Deep in ZDoom and its custom PLAYPAL. According to esselfortium, this bug also exists in PRBoom+ and older versions of DSDA-Doom. Vanilla, ZDoom, and GZDoom do not seem to be affected. I hope Zandronum can be patched to handle this palette ahead of BTSX3's release. Thank you for your time, and for making my favorite source port! | ||||
