| Summary | 0003903: Color variables in CVARINFO can cause stutter upon "map" calls or clients connecting to servers. | ||||
| Description | The more color type variables defined in CVARINFO, the more that "map" calls such as using the map command or starting a game via Offline Skirmish can stutter. This happens online as well with clients connecting to the server and whenever the map command is used. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Load the JustColorCVARs.pk3 and attempt to create an Offline Skirmish game, compare the stutter upon map switch to without the file. | ||||
| Additional Information | I talked briefly with geNia about this issue and he isolated it to "the part that reads color lump, specifically the rgbNames = Wads.ReadLump (rgblump); line in v_video.cpp." A brief test in GZDoom shows that this issue doesn't occur, indicating it was possibly improved at some point. | ||||
