Summary | 0003064: Make a default folder for Zandronum testing |
Description | This would be a suggestion for Doomseeker, and DE too. Joining a test server is almost automatic, with Doomseeker installing the correct beta version of Zandronum, but there is still a road block: the player has to first go into options to set up a testing folder. Some players are confused why they can't simply connect to those servers, like mine for example.
If Doomseeker (and DE) had a default testing folder, that step wouldn't be necessary, and the whole process would be fully automatic. If a player wants to use a different folder for testing, he would be able to change it from the default as easily as he could set it in the first place now. |

This is purely a Doomseeker thing since the Zandronum beta is obviously already installed before Zandronum is even launched. As for DE, you have to take this up with its developer.

I thought Doomseeker was included in this tracker, and I hoped that the DE devs would happen to see this, too.
EDIT: In the form for reporting an issue, I don't see an option to specify which project the suggestion is for.

I see in that ticket that it is implemented in a beta version of Doomseeker, but many players use the stable version of Doomseeker, perhaps not even aware of the option to use beta versions. I searched for an existing ticket before I posted this, but didn't find that. I brought it up because I had to explain to a player yesterday how to set up a testing folder in Doomseeker.
Now that I have explained myself, I'll shut up so this issue can be closed and not be opened by me posting again. |

Doomseeker 1.1 will be released once Blzut3 greenlights it. |
