I've attached screenshots to show the difference. |

That seems strange. That build in 0000408 is much older than what you checked, so nothing excludes that the issue you noticed could be caused by a recent change in the repository. You should do a bisect in order to find out which changeset broke it. |

Indeed, but my fix is based on an older changeset ( this one ), so you should first check if this older changeset has the issue or not.
[edit] If you update your repository changeset to this one and test such a build, can you still reproduce the issue?

I'm having trouble updating, can I get a windows build? |

Both are bugged; clientsided puffs work but disabling that causes the same issue. I tested the build posted here'http://zandronum.com/tracker/view.php?id=408 [^]' again to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong, but it works fine.

Can you check if this works better?
EDIT: Here is the source of the current version of the fix.
using ZandroDev3.0-PuffSpawnFixTest, the puffs work fine when shot at the start ledge of doom2 map01 online (cl_clientsidepuffs 0/1) and the example wad for ticket 2685 still works fine as well (just in case) |
Thanks for checking! I pushed the fix to the repo. |
Tested online with 3.0-160814 and the puffs worked correctly with clientsidepuffs off and on when shooting at the map01 ledge. |
