0000278: Death sounds are mute
When you kill yourself (to make the gib animation), it doesn't have any sound. This was working before but this is since 98b or 98c (though I am not sure if is since 98a but I seen this bug since some time)
This happens ONLY in Heretic and HeXen
In Doom works fine
Maybe in ZDoom works fine
Load Heretic or HeXen
Select any class (if in HeXen)
Type Kill in console to kill yourself
You will notice there is no death sound
Bug or not, this must be fixed

yep, happens as well in GZDoom 323
it ALSO happens in Zdoom 2.5.0
EDIT: how do I edit the bug report? I said that I think it works in Zdoom but it doesn't. people will think it work :(

Happends here as well.
I assume that was working before Skulltag 98a or 98b (not sure) but now doesn't even work. Maybe does this has to have with Zdoom versions?

before posting this in the zdoom bugs thread, can you tell me if you reproduced this with a clean .ini (no autoloads, etc)?

Not a bug. Just bind a key to "kill" and try this way; you'll hear the sound.

What happens is simply that the death sound gets played immediately while you're still in the console, and the console shuts the sound off.

and this happens also for every monster which has A_Scream in the first frame.

anyway, yeah I heard that this also happens for monsters
