0002762: "Class" field in SKININFO breaks a_skullpop and spawns dummy players
instructions below
load'http://static.allfearthesentinel.net/wads/hnsv1.pk3 [^]' with skulltag content
pick the hunter class
do "kill" in console
see how it spawns a dummy actor

to fix this edit the wad
remove the "class" line from skininfo
load up the wads
do "kill" again

Before doing any ulterior investigation, you should make a reduced wad which would also work with gzdoom 1.8.6 (the only entry in your skininfo lump zdoom doesn't support would be 'Hidden', but it should still work without it, shouldn't it?) and test it again with both zan 3.0 and gzdoom 1.8.6.

Ok I uploaded it. I can't find any GzDoom 1.8.6 downloads on google, but the bug does occur in Zandro 3.0.

(G)ZDoom supports S_SKIN, not SKININFO, so the example wad must be changed.

I don't mod in Zdoom or know how to set up S_SKIN, either you or someone else will have to do that.

With skininfo-skullpop-bug.pk3, I can see the dummy actor online (not offline) in 2.1.2. In the latest 3.0 version (I only tested the head of our repo, not the last official beta build), the problem with the dummy actor seems to be gone. Can somebody confirm this?

Weird, I can still see the dummy actor both offline and online and both 2.1.2 and 3.0.

I still can't reproduce this in 3.0. Can somebody reproduce this on Windows? If so, can you record a client side demo that shows the effect?

I guess I didn't specify it happens in the death sequence with death camera on. When I respawn the proper actor is shown in 3.0, so I guess that part is fixed :)

I noticed that this happens offline and online as well as in Zandronum 2.1.2. Can somebody make a ZDoom compatible example to check whether this is a ZDoom problem? With'https://zdoom.org/wiki/S_SKIN [^]' , the SKININFO to S_SKIN conversion should be rather simple.

A_SkullPop should now work properly in 3.1 without spawning dummy players.

Double checked online with 3.1 and no dummy players were spawned using the test wad.
