Summary | 0000248: Crash every time a server loads. |
Description | Whenever a server is joined the loading screen for that server is brought up but seconds after this the program closes and I get a 'Very Fatal Error' screen. I also get this code 'Code: C0000005 (Access Violation - tried to write address 8FB667EA)' |
Steps To Reproduce | Occurs whenever a server is joined. |
Additional Information | I downloaded the newest version of Skulltag and Doomseeker, using the Doom 2 wad from the free website hosted on the wiki.
Music from the level is played after the crash until Skulltag is closed even though the program for the server is closed. |

Sounds like Skulltag that's crashing rather than Doomseeker.
If I'm not mistaken, then you should have the option to generate a crash report which you can upload here.
What happens if you join a server hosted by someone else (just pick anyone from the master server list)? |
When the crash report box came up the report button would not be clickable, it remained grey.
This occurs on every server I have tried, that is all of the ones with people in them.
I have noticed that when I join a full server it does not crash until I start a new game, so now it seems that the crash occurs when I join a game. |
you should click "Save a copy to disk" or something, so it creates an archive file with some information about the crash, then attach that file here. |
Okay I have uploaded the report now. |
The crash log shows a client crash in the software renderer (probably a problem with your graphics driver). So it looks like you didn't observe any server crashes, but client crashes.
Do you have the latest graphics driver installed? Which Windows version are you using? |
I don't have the latest graphics driver installed as I am using a laptop, I am also using Windows Vista. This was never a problem before the latest update. |
With "latest update" you are referring to the Skulltag update from 98c to 98d? If so, can you check if 98c still works for you? And why does using a laptop prevent you from updating to the latest driver provided by the manufacturer? |
I am using 98d, I will try 98c to see if the problem still occurs. Also I misread your comment about the driver, I'll try that as well. |
Since the information I requested hasn't been supplied in the last four months, I'm closing this. Feel free to reopen this or make a new report if necessary. |
