| Description | As everyone here knows, to load a custom wad (P-wad), you simply drag it (or multiple ones) onto the Zandronum icon, and then select Doom, Doom 2, or whatever game it needs in order to run.
Strangely however, if you run the I-wad first, custom wad loading cannot be done from the Main Menu of the games that Zandronum supports. (Doom, Doom 2, Heretic, etc)
Why not also have this in the Main Menu for whatever game is running? For example, you load Doom 2's I-wad normally, but then you decide you actually want to play another P-wad (most likely another single player level or megawad). Rather than having to close Doom 2 and mouse-drag the P-wad(s) mentioned above, it would be more convenient to be able to select a P-wad from the game's Main Menu, instead. In addition, via this method, Zandronum would look for any additional files while loading the main p-wad, such as .deh and .bex files for custom graphics, provided the name is the same as the p-wad in question and those files are in the same folder. For example: Loading AV.wad (Alien Vendetta) via "Play Custom Level" from the Main Menu would also load AV.deh along with it. |
