Summary0001742: Please allow hardcoded frag/flag/etc messages to be editable via Language.
DescriptionOn the forums, there's recently been a few topics about editing the frag messages or editing the flag messages--and it would be nice to have the ability to edit them to suit a mod's different needs, provided that it's not a lot of work.

For example, for Chex Quest deathmatch it would be nice to be able to edit to say "You zorched %o" instead of fragged.
Or for other mods that replace the capture the flag sprite with something else, it would be nice to be able to edit it with "You have the blue X" or "You have the red X", instead of just the flag.

This isn't really that important, but it's definitely a "would be nice" thing.

Additional InformationAttached is a picture where the latter would especially come in handy--I'm working on a mod where in CTF you pick up a colored baby Metroid. On picking up the Metroid, however, it's referred to as a flag. MUH IMMERSION

As I mentioned, it would be nice to be able to have modifiable versions of the "You have the Blue flag!" or "You have the Red flag!" messages in Language, along with the other hardcoded frag/capture/accomplishment texts.

It's on my to do list to see what I can come up with.

I would also like to see even further customization, so I might actually make a 'global' ticket for this and just reference this one.

By that, I mean externalize *everything*, while in the process making it so you can choose to override/disable them through ACS by printing over them with blank strings should one want to customize them beyond what the language lump allows.

Hopefully that sounds reasonable.
Until then, I will put this on my to-do list. Right now it's lower priority until I clear up some tickets that need to be done asap, I'm expecting that this should get a nice look at within a week's time if my schedule remains nice. Sorry it'll be slow :(
