Pointless request.
First: it would change from the ZDoom base, which isn't really desirable because it would introduce confusion as to why something that works in one port doesn't in another. (Especially now that scripts tend to look at CVAR values a lot. Some mod that checks the values of sv_nocrouch/sv_allowcrouch would not be compatible between ZDoom and Zandronum.)
Secondly: whether crouching is forcefully allowed, forcefully disallowed, or let to the default behavior of being subject to the whims of MAPINFO settings is available quite handily in the gameplay options menu, with no need to mess with CVARs in the console. |

Wait for sv_crouch to come in. |

This isn't really the case with the non-Windows server where there is no GUI to begin with so you need to know the CVars by name. Same goes with RCON.
However I still agree with the first sentiment. This is a ZDoom problem, not a problem that has to do with us and if we 'fix' it we just induce more delta between the two ports. If you really want to see this changed, post about this on ZDoom. |
