Summary | 0001593: Compat_WallRun does not fully replicate wallrun behaviour |
Description | Compat_WallRun does not turn eastbound wallrunning on, which is present in vanilla doom. This breaks wads such as prcp, which has a section that relies on eastbound wallrun. See here:'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUS8Q9mnCBs#t=00m20s [^]' |
Steps To Reproduce | Run prcp'http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/?id=16429 [^]' with plutonia iwad
Turn compat_wallrun on, and then go up the elevator at start, on that level take the right way and go to a small room with a drop down lift. You should be able to wallrun along the fence to make it in time to the lift, but you can't in Zandronum. |

Turns out having compat_plasmabump on restores eastbound wallrunning for some reason. I guess this makes this issue less urgent. |

Having said that, eastbound wallrunning still seems to be off on normal one sided linedefs even with compat_plasmabump on, however it should exist eastbound according to doom wiki'http://doomwiki.org/wiki/Wallrunning [^]'

I just tested in vanilla doom2.exe and eastbound wallrunning apparently doesn't exist on one sided linedefs after all, in which case the doom wiki is wrong. |

Is compat_wallrun any different in GZDoom 323? If not, is it any different in the latest GZDoom version?

It works fine. The wiki is wrong, you can only wallrun east on double-sided impassable linedefs. The current behavior is misleading though. Let's continue this in this ticket. |
