Summary | 0001583: Ceilings/Floors appear to be partially raised/lowered when they really aren't. |
Description | In Co-op survival, sometimes floors or ceilings appear to show the sector behind them as if said ceiling or floor it were lowered or raised. This is pretty strange. |
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Start a regular coop survival
2. Waste through your lives.
3. While in the countdown to restart, lower a lift/floor or open a door a few seconds before the game starts.
4. If you opened a door beforehand, the door will appear to be partially opened and you can see whats behind the door. Same goes for the floor lowered.
Additional Information | This can happen with any wad. This happened when I was playing Slaughterfest 2012 and Hellbound. Also, this doesn't always work. I've only seen this happen a few times. |

Disregard what I said above about this happening only a few times. It's actually possible to do this every single time just before the start of the game, regardless of mods or what wads you're playing. |

I cannot confirm this, I suicide in map01 in survival and lower the lift that leads to the switch to the outdoors secret and once the map restarts the lift is back up properly. Can you make a demo file showing the issue if it happens online?
Quote from W1D3A55 It's been a while. Has anybody else confirmed this?
6 hours does definitely not count as "a while" for a bump. |

I can see it that it happens in the demo, but can't reproduce it on my own server. Is the server possibly running a modified version of Zandronum? |
It's only running the latest version of Zandronum 1.2 just like every other server. |
Are you running the server on your own? Or how do you know that it's not using a modified binary? |
I'm not running the server on my own. Also, it doesn't just happen with that specific server, it has happened (and can happen) on several other survival servers with completely different wads and such. Therefore, it would be A LOT of servers that had a custom binary if that were the case. |

Can you reproduce the problem if you run a local server with an official binary?
BTW: Many servers are using custom binaries.

Just ran sf2012 on a LAN server with an official binary. Same issue happened. |

Please post a demo showing this happen on your own server, include instructions on how to start the server and upload your ini file. Also please start the server with "+logfile filename" and attach the full logfile. Would also be good if you have a completely clean skins directory when recording the demo.
EDIT: Something you could check before doing the above: Does it happen with a clean ini?

I also could not reproduce this with 2.1.2. |
