For the record, the reason join passwords haven't been added to Doomseeker yet is because I believe this is a user interface short coming of Zandronum itself. If it doesn't yet, Zandronum should prompt for the password when you try to join.
When Doomseeker gets a password manager there may be a better argument for prompting at the browser level, but at the moment is there really a point? |

Doomseeker, being bundled with Zandronum, is used by >90% of new users. It is these new users that are being confused by the current devious way of joining a server with join password. We've actually encountered it on a large scale when trying to host a permanent join password WDI server. Not one Doomseeker user knew what's going on, why they can't join and what they should do. We had to change plans. I think it is the browser's job (at least) to mark the server as having join password, if not feature a simple password manager; which is something that has been a natural thing in IDE for years to everyone's satisfaction.

Well, it does currently prompt for connect passwords, so I imagined prompting for join passwords just as easily.
Also the server creation dialog counts with join passwords.
EDIT: even if Zandronum was made to prompt for join passwords itself, it doesn't store passwords in .ini - and here we are back on the browser to store them ;) Surely nobody wants to type the password each time they join a server.

Working as intended, even if a server sets both join and in-game password. |
