0001360: sv_nofragsreduction - anti TeamDeathmatch trolling
Basically on TDM, if you keep killing yourself, your entire teams score is reduced per death. So instead of your entire teams score being penalized how about it not even penalizing the score at all?

This is also prominent in all out war 2, where if you commit suicide during the ticket count. It'll keep reducing your entire teams tickets.

One thing I noticed people can do in TDM is just keep blowing themselves up with the RL and ruin it for their team.

There's a few options:

1. Leave it as is
2. Make a flag to disallow suicides adding a negative frag (this might exist already? I'm not sure)
3. Disallow frags to go under 0 to prevent trolls, like the above but just for zero.

This feature will be even easier to abuse, since you just kill yourself before getting killed, or after draining your BFG, without even worrying about your own frags. I.e., if you do not want to discourage suicides by penalizing the team, then suicides will not be discouraged at all.

This should have no effect at all on AOW AFAIK, since that is done entirely by ACS, not the TDM gamemode.

By the way, trolls can still troll simply by not killing anyone while getting fragged, which is equally effective, harder to detect, and harder to take action against.

It's an optional flag. I'm completely ok with people suiciding and spamming bfg. (Even though the bfg is hard to get in MOST maps ie UDM3 Map01)

LMAO I remember back in 96f, I was playing in a RBDM Team Deathmatch server, my team was losing, then some guy connected on the other team and suicided/respawned every 8 tics or so. He drove that team's fragcount to -400 and then disconnected. I guess we won?

But yeah i'd definitely support a flag like this. Especially for DM maps like SpaceDM where falling deaths are pretty common and shouldn't count against your team's score.

The solution I was thinking of was to just not allow a negative score. If the suicide with 0 frags, it stays zero. If they suicide with 10, it goes to 9.

Bad idea IMO. Using kill should count towards decreasing overall tickets.
As far as team deathmatch goes, that's still debatable.

The only issue here that I have yet to think of a solution to address this bug is people using it if their HP is at 5 and they suicide at zero kills to regenerate health.

Hi, now that I think about it, some mods have suicide bomber classes and it'd be nice if when you suicide it didn't reduce a frag when you kill yourself. As for the exploits said above, this would be off by default and require the server to manually turn it on. Power to the server, if a server hoster wants people to be able to suicide without frags being taken away, let it be.

Perhaps there should be some sort of setting to make self-damage and non-instant death terrain damage not reduce you below 1 health to go along with sv_nosuicide. That way, there's no way to intentionally deny yourself to the enemy team.

^ That could still be used to troll by kill-feeding. (and 1hp Rocket Jumping, as someone in IRC had said.) I'd personally have it so hazards and rockets don't make someone lose frags for their team, and disabling the kill command.
