0001142: Buddha cheat.
The buddha cheat allows player to keep 1 hit point instead of dying.
(http://zdoom.org/wiki/CCMDs:Debug#buddha)

It can be activated with the buddha command or with SetPlayerProperty (ACS).
This command can be useful for players who are not supposed to die (and activate an event when they have only 1 hit point) or powerups.
It can also be used as a debug command.

I'd like to show my support for this with a couple examples.

- A powerup that gives you specific powers once you reach 1 hp, such as a short timed invulnerability.
- To create fake deaths for players, like reincarnation abilities and such...

This is a perfect recommendation for something that could be backported without waiting for us to slowly climb the development stairs. It has lots and lots of uses and is a very handy thing to have. It basically allows what I could have done better all this time in many mods I took part in better, and any future mods as well.

I uploaded a diff patch for Zandronum 1.0. (There isn't any TXT_BUDDHAON and TXT_BUDDHAOFF in the language lump)
I hope this could help implementing this feature.

IIRC (I asked on Skulltag IRC eons ago) it was removed because it was "lame". Removing it (if it's the truth) was kinda pointless, I guess... It's good for training very hard stuff, so you can not die but be aware when you're hit and trying to avoid it.

Works as intended in 2.0.

Edit:...offline. This cheat is unresponsive to the client command online.

Well, as long as it can be given to players through ACS, then it should be good; but I suppose that's what you meant there with it being unresponsive, right?

I typed the 'buddha' command online and it did nothing. That's what I meant in regards to the unresponsiveness that I encountered with this. I was able to get the cheat to work by using ACS in the provided example wad. Shouldn't the client be able to use this command online, seeing as ACS works?

The console command should be fixed now. Please test it in the next beta build.

Ivan, ACS should work independently of sv_cheats.
