ZDoomWars: Custom Medieval Fantasy Faction (Public Alpha Build 4)

Hello! So this is an idea that was brought up when I was playing zdoomwars with a group of people. What if there was a custom faction that combined medieval humans with the forces of hell? Being a big fan of classic diablo 1 and 2, I looked at a few of his monsters and said to myself "Holy sh*t this would make an awesome faction!" I wrote up a faction tree utilizing his monsters (in the style that would fit zdoomwars in terms of balance). This faction combines elements from Hexen with a unique mix of monsters to add to the table. Our faction would mix human ground troops with fantasy themes and monsters. It branches off into a dedicated melee branch, a ranged branch (that would consist of mostly archers), and a branch that mixes spellcasters/aerial units.

Change log (Since public alpha build 1) :

1) Deus Vult! Taunt added to the class. Debating or not to give the class more taunts.

2) HP regen fixed! The class now has 250 health and 75 starting armor. When your health drops at 120, it should auto regen normally now and wont be locked at 100 HP.

3) Player resistances added. Now the player class wont die as easily.

4) Horse Archer's drop mana changed from green to pink.

5) Changes to the Undead Paladin. He can now only attack in melee range and is extremely weak to aerial units. Make sure you cover him with aerial monsters in battle!

6) General HP buffs and damage buffs/nerfs to various units.

7) Decreased amount of Undead Manticore Tamers to get to the War Revenant.

8) HP bars to the Arcane Advocates. This is still buggy but sometimes they will/will not appear.


What we still need to do (Aimed for the official beta release with hopefully more monsters):

1) Add monster sprites to the individual monster spawn daggers. Fix the chat log issue with monster descriptions.

2) Add the custom tree portrait for the faction for reference. Making sure that the unlock function work properly with the tree in ACS.

3) General Balance and tweaking the monsters. Possibly add upgraded units/new units along with some monsters (IE upgraded spear peasants). Buffs and nerfs to some units.

4) Give the class a unique drop item. I was thinking either a single summonable custom monster inventory consumable from the faction or a temporary health regen prayer pick up.

Note: You must load zdoomwarsiv3.1d3.pk3, ZDoomWarsIv3.1Resources.pk3, ZDoomWarsIMapsv1.8b.pk3, CustomMedievalFactionPublicAlphaBuild4.wad in this order or the mod will not work properly.

The bbcode in your post is not working, and by trial-and-error, I figured out what is breaking it. To fix it, get rid of the url codes around the note at the end of the post. With that gone, the whole post works.
