Zandronum 2.1.2 refuses to connect to servers

So, I tried connecting to a few servers today, but the game doesn't show up, nor give any indication that it recognized me clicking "Join".
I've played quite recently with no problems (same Zandronum version), and all the file paths are correct. I don't understand why it doesn't even give me an error message (which would obviously be more helpful).

Any ideas?

EDIT: I'm using Windows 7.

What OS? If you're on Linux, it has no start up dialog, so you'll need to right click the server, click Copy join command-line, run it in a terminal, and post your error.

Ah. What happens if you launch Zan directly (go to where it was installed and double-click the EXE)?

"The program can't start because fmodex.dll is missing from your
computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

Ugh, not another .dll error. Well, that clears that up; thanks for helping!

Although I was playing the same version just a week back...

fmodex.dll is included with Zandronum. Try re-installing it.
