In search of good Horror wads

#1

Post by Vlad the Impaler » Tue Jul 22, 2014 7:25 pm

Hello fellow Doomers, I've been searching for some good Horror wads recently, but the closest I found is Lasting Light, The Cabin, and Buttpain. Other than that, nothing really. Do tell me of any Horror wads you might know of.
Ah... So you think the lag is your ally... You merely adopted the lag, I was BORN in it! MOLDED by it! I didn't have a stable internet connection until I was a man, and by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING!

Some common horror .wads that you can try are The Ghoul's Forest (Three) and The City of the Damned. You could also try Phobia and Happy Time Circus, which provide a dark atmosphere to the setting.

Hmm... I tried City of the Damned, and Ghoul's Forest 3... Phobia sounds interesting from the info I gathered from Google just now, though.

Spoiler: Seriously, don't. (Open)
Try The Factory or The Hotel LLLOLLL
Well, I suppose The Hotel (v3) is for those who enjoy long mazes and hyperspeed Half-Life grunt shadows with railguns hiding somewhere. Or killer angel statues.

I played the Factory already, and I just saw a video of The Hotel... Those aren't exactly something I'd really play. They're rather boring once you get past the whole "fear" factor.

Doom.ExE (yes there's a mod called like that)
The Hotel (I prefered the version with the old music :( )
Cursed Maze
ButtPain with any wad with vanilla monsters
EDIT there's the Ao Oni mod, but I don't think it's so scary

PLEASE tell me you're being sarcastic.

Well, actually, in a certain sense, Terry wads are actually pretty fucking horrifying.

A friend made me play the hotel, its not even scary. More like boring and bordeline annoying. Also i dont get why it is called the hotel when its a endles copypaste maze using a single metal texture, last time i checked hotels didnt look like that.
