singleplayer respawn?

is there a way to respawn in single player? i want to play some harder wads but i hate the constant dying and save loading but at the same time i like the ability to save my game so i can resume play later whereas on a server i cant save and lose all progress. is there any way to do this?

Type multiplayer in console and you'll respawn like in multiplayer

Typing multiplayer in console could also result in more monsters spawning, those that spawn in multi-player and not in single-player.

You can also type "resurrect" in the console when you're dead.
