Honestly, I and many others couldn't care less of who and what they identify as. It's the Internet and everyone has a right to do this if they want. Oh, and there is also such thing as transgender which is socially acceptable.

I think the game definitely changes when you build comradery with someone (especially if its a perceived female) for a years + for them later on come out from under the rug and be revealed to have been a guy all along. Remember people like Wario, Soulsucka, Qent, Stipsi, and Redshirt + many others have all been changed people, who pretty much either disappeared or never were the same after some of those gender pretenders came to light. Clearly trust is a huge issue to many people and does break ppl in the community.

^ To add to that(blue's post), people apparently DID care. Example: stipsi was forced to step down after threatening community members with a ban if they spoke about Iceymew's true identity. Wario could probably tell you how he felt about the truth.

I think that in this case it is revealing private conversations -which include juicy content- that will have bigger impact on someone's trust... but that's just my opinion :T
