I know how is he, and that's why I ignore most of the "bad" things he do, but I never had a bad talk with him (I didn't even complained of my name in brutal doom credits is wrong :v)

There are two ways to ask the same think, the first one tells you the author hates sgt mark, "inducing" to"yes", on the second question, you're being neutral without exposing your opinion into the question.

Also there are two ways to view a user, focusing into his bad parts or focusing into his good parts. The thing is, when the suicide thread was created into zandronum, he already created it with the intention of make people ban sgt matmrk for a thing he didn't even made in zandronum...

As you can see, my view point is kinda good about him, because I don't focus on the dirty part of him...
And as I said there are some bad stuff he did and also overreacted thing the community did(not the ban stuff)

I've never cared about Brutal Doom, especially ever since it started steering far away from Doom's core feel and gameplay, and when Mike12's far superior sprites were removed. (They were in one version, then dumped for crap that looks poorly scaled, sheared and slapped together from various sprite parts in MSPaint). I've never been a fan of it's sound selection either, among other things.

The gore system is impressive, I'll give it that, but it needs some subtlety to make it feel right... when everything creates 6 gallons of blood all the time, you lose a lot of what makes certain weapons so satisfying to use. It's much better when the amount of blood spew is reflected by the type/strength of weapon, and size of target. Brutal Doom has no real sense of weight or impact to any weapon aside from the shotguns. A lot of the weapons feel slow, delayed, cumbersome, and clunky too... made even worse when you play online due to the added latency. Not sure why that is.

The only thing I like about BD is some of the sub-mods made by other modders, such as Project Brutality. I also like how those mods somewhat distance it from Sgt. Mark.

Yes, I still think Sgt. Mark is a piece of shit. I don't just hate him for his racism and the incident with him giving helium exit bag instructions to a suicidal person*, I hate him for the attitude he's demonstrated towards people with mental illness, his arrogance/ego, edgy demeanor, and how he carries himself overall. All of the horrible things he has done... he was never sorry for them, his apologies were insincere, and he has no intention of ever changing that. He a sociopath that feels everyone should stroke his shaft and suck his balls for his "achievements" and popularity with BD. The truth is, he just got fucking lucky that a high-profile publisher decided to cover his mod and not some other mod just as good, if not superior to it. He only had publicity, nothing more.

*(His actions toward the person who left a suicide note struck a very bad nerve with me, since I've had several people close to me kill themselves IRL and online, sending me into a hellish downward spiral of my own. Not everyone does that shit for attention, I take suicide and suicide threats very seriously, online or off. I can't afford not to.)

Why ban Mark from the forums when he didn't even do anything wrong on this website to begin with? A forum ban should be based on behavior depicted on the forums and not elsewhere. We don't want something like this coming up again, where users are banned for doing things OUTSIDE of Zandronums domain.

In fact whoever banned him should apologize. He didn't do anything wrong here, and thus shouldn't have been banned in the first place.

Yes on a thread you created for the sole purpose of getting an "apology" of some sort when he doesn't even frequently post here. Banning someone just because they didn't react the way people wanted to on a website where he had no warnings prior is messed up.

I'm looking through his posts on that thread right now and he didn't even post anything that could be warranting a ban. The worst I see is sarcasm.

Hell, he even apologized but a bunch of people thought he wasn't sincere. And at that point he probably realized this place was a lost cause and stopped taking that thread seriously.

I agree that nobody should be banned for actions on a completely different forum, but IIRC he was ultimately banned for taking Decay's dramabait hook line and sinker. He also may or may not have had a few warnings from other threads at that point although I'm not sure, you'd have to look through his most recent posts. edit: nvm I guess someone already did


I actually changed my mind, I think we should unban him. If he messes up again then warn+purg him like anyone else. What's the worst that could happen, another drama thread?

Sgt. Mark should have been wise not to reply to the dramabait thread at all. People were pissed off at the time and he added more fuel to the fire with his response. Assuming mods were sane at the time, they wouldn't have banned him for the actions he did elsewhere without him doing anything on this forum.

With that said, 2 years ban was well exaggerated in respect to his behavior explicitly on this forum. Even the regular drama causers don't get something like that here.

Is any of this relevant today? No. If he did get 2 years ban, then he should be unbanned by now. Further "punishments" would have to be based on his actions from here onward. I doubt he'd be posting here anyway.

Or the system broke, shouldn't he get automatically unbanned? Or is it required to a mod manually unban he when the ban time expires?

EDIT: ah it expires today at 4pm, so it mat get unbanned by the system tommorow (I just hope he'll not make na "I live again" post like I did on the day I got suspended and get another suspend)
