It's alright. I still miss shooting corpses on the floor, though.
Marines get somehow stuck on walls, for some weird reason.
You can tell them to camp somewhere, which is nice if you don't want them to bother you.
Dual wielding rocks.
That shotgun's swinging thing looks hilarious.
Console variables are a good thing.
I haven't tried the chainsaw yet but I've heard it's awkward.

So yeah, I had more fun with V20 than expected.
Why is finding the user CP so hard?

Dual wielding is cool I guess.

The rest of it is still a shiny overhyped turd. I wonder if Mark still genuinely enjoys working on it or if he's just trying to milk whatever attention he still can from it.

The performance has been improved (v19 ran like shit on my crappy potato pc,this one runs surprisingly fine),dual wielding is awesome, improved sprites,CVARS (ABOUT FUCKING TIME MARK),ammo unloading (this is surprisingly useful),grenades and being able to blow up corpses ...

...Buuuuuuuuut

The classic class seems a bit off,he also doesn't gets shit when picking up a BFG (not sure if a bug or something),nutkicking got nerfed, bullet penetration bullshit, cannot hold altfire on the fist, shotgun with a ballsack (this is somewhat funny, actually) and the chainsaw having the worst chainsaw sprites in this side of the pla-no,IN THIS SIDE OF THE UNIVERSE.

This version has it's flaws (see above),but it's still way better than the previous versions IMO.

1- Performance is OK for me on a 2009 Macbook Pro, no unusual slow downs.
2- The shotgun strap is weird, I'd just remove it because it's unnecessary.
3- I don't really like how the dual wielding works. I also, don't really like the concept of dual wielding in Doom.
4- Chainsaw is cool, but could use some work for smoothness. But I guess now its like a chopping action, which is neat.
5- I don't understand modern and classic for single player.

Overall- Very fun, generally improved Doom experience. I pretty much always play with Brutal Doom on for the last couple of years.

For the v20, i think, it's better than the v19....the marines who help you, can use others weapons like Shotgun, Plasma rifle..... The grenades are really helpful, i wanted a weapon who can make a rounded trajectory (like grenade launcher) and the grenades is really helpful sometimes (and powerful but you can take only 20 grenades in your bag).
The double guns (with the m4 type or plasma rifle) is awesome, a nice way to spam in short range (or a little farther).
The weapon of manucubus is awesome again, one of my favorite weapon ^^ :D
The zombies are buffed, but you need to headshot them to kill them faster, it's really fun with the rifle m4 (not sure about the name), also, 1 very good thing : when you change the weapon, it's faster, you can switch really quickly the weapon, like the machinegun to the ssg...really helpful.....the reload of the weapons seem to be faster (not sure) , not really a handicap....(just for the style i think).
Always funny to burn a some zombies with the Mancubus weapon, and they start to run everywhere because they are "in flame" xD it burns the others monsters who want kill those zombies then, hilarous..... (:

Why in 99% of cases this is only played in 'Cooperative' online? Are people really that much of a noob or can seriously enjoy a game with infinite lives and no repercussions >_>

Trailblazer is better

This is the reason i've never joined a brutal doom server for a mutliplayer session. I've never seen a survival one and coop just isn't as fun to me :(

Because most of the people that play this are in the coop crowd apparently.

That crowd from what I understand is usually quite different from the rest of Zandro.

"No."

It's kinda funny, it's like that "post the name of the music that you're listening now", I just posted "nothing" and boom, deleted comment and warned

Maybe, people feel the need to post something in threads that they hate the commented mod idk :S.

And to be honest, I'm not playing doom a long time, the last time I did was a 10 minutes gameplay, damn you college, your finals are making me crazy D::::::::::

At the begining I liked it, but now it's boring, I don't know if it's from the servers or the gameplay, but I don't have any fun on it.

I wonder why Sergeant Mark 4 keep working on it, he made a good unfinished project called "armagedoom" with a custom campagn(yeah modes with custom maps are always the best), and that one was very good, after finishing the 5 only maps I really wanted him to finish that project.

Seriously?
Perhaps, because the opionion of one person (yes- yours :D )is not that important compared to a whole mass of people loving what he does?

The huge advantage of brutal doom is that things get a bit more difficult and interesting. You just die faster. We (Doomdaddies) always had the problems that megawads with a monster count of 50-100 were not that interesting to our survivals, as we always play with more people. They were just too easy. Brutal Doom gives us the chance to replay all these "easy" wads and level that we missed all those years.
We do and always will support what he does!

So you can play through them with even more ease? Brutal Doom isnt hard, sure the enemies have different attacks and whatnot but the headshot thing combined with extremely buffed weapon damage (ie Minigun vs horde of Barons or Cyberdemon vs almost any headshot) makes it simpler than ol vanilla in a lot of situations.

Not hating on Brutal Doom here, just saying.

EDIT: I didn't even include the Berserk/Fatality stuff, but yeah you get the point.

Brutal doom more difficult ? I don't think so, all weapons we get are buffed, without adding the akimbo, the fatalities(where you become invinsible), and the op marines that we can free and rape an entire zombie squad.
Why no one open a survival server with brutal doom ?
Because it won't give more challenge than vanilla doom, just a little different gameplay.

Anyway even if I'm alone thinking that, actually the part of the community playing brutal doom is totally full of unknowed players that we don't see on any other server, they download Zandroum only for brutal doom(online which is sure more funny) and don't go check for something else.

I don't say that the mode is bad, it's pretty funny online with some friends, but the gameplay has a poor variety so it become annoying quickly(like RGA2).

they do join survival servers actually. But shortly after they ask "Why I can't join" thinking it is coop game mode. Some of them stay until game starts or call the server a shitty one. A lot of them get rolled by demons and leave or start asking to restart the server.

Tbh I kinda hate when people reply to their questions with trolling or stupid remarks instead of actually helping. But if they keep repeating the same question after legit answers feel free to do that :P.

Brutal DOOM is not only a weapon mode who buffed the weapons:

The zombies have more HP than Normal doom and shoot faster than the normal one who is just "walk around, shoot 1 bullet, continue to walk a little and then, die with 1 or 2 bullet of the pistol of Doomguy, In brutal doom, you need to hit the head to kill them quickly (and it can hard to do it, but you can use the scop mode with alt). same with shotgunner or machinegunner, they are more reactive and have more HP.

Some ennemies can be killed in 1 shot of SSG, like the cacodemon, or the Revenant, but you need to be really in close range....
Like stuck on a cacodemon but it can be dangerous, same with the revenant, you need to shoot the head really close.
In an other way, Cacodemon can dodge your attacks by, suddenly "dashing" on the air, it's really hard if you try to kill them with a Rocket Launcher.... they shoot the fireballs faster too.

The revenants spam more the little rockets but the splash damage is not so powerful, except if you take the rocket directly on you.
It's like the cyberdemon, he can spam more rocket (like 5) but faster than the vanilla cyberdemon, but yeah, if you take the rocket directly on you, it hurts.

What about if vanilla Cyberdemon shoot only 1 rocket who do a huge splash damage who kill you in 1 shot? You seem my point, Brutal DOOM try to make the gameplay faster with more dodge and with a precis gameplay (you can headhsot the zombies or revenant to kill them faster but it's not so easy).

The point of brutal doom is to improve the gameplay in a way, in the v20, the weapons are more balanced than before and all of them are helpful, the grenade is what we need in DOOM, a weapon a do a rounded trajectory, angle..... (like a grenade launcher), you can have only 20 grenades by bag, but the power is really great, a good way to be tactic. The grenade is maybe very powerful but it doesnt explose directly on the ennemy, so it's balanced in that way.

What about the Baron of Hell ? he can charge a 5 plasmaballs but need a little time to do it. He can take an explosive barrel and throw it at you, the Hell Knight can shot the plasma balls faster too.

The imp seems to have more HP too, shoot fireballs faster and can jump on your to slash you.
Like some others ennemies, sergent mark added more balance between strong stuff and weak stuff to make an other new gameplay for the game.....

Some ennemies can be killed faster in a way but you need some skill to do it, if you do well, you deserve your success, if you fail, you was just not accurate/precis. It's not just spam ennemy with autoaim/no-mouselook (but i respect this way to play because it's basically doom.)
For the reload, the reload of the weapons are just for the style but it can be done very quickly (except for the Double gun but yeah balance..) but the best is when you change the weapons => it's done VERY QUICKLY, so, in doom vanilla, when you change a weapon, it can be dangerous sometimes, in brutal doom, it's not more a problem.

The "finish" are not so easy to do, it can be dangerous if you have a strong ennemy near you who wait to hit you when you finish an ennemy....and it gives only 10 hp now....

What about the special difficult 10/12 scale who make the ennemy 2x Faster? I did it with Udoom, it was full of fun. :)

The Double Gun is good but it's only for 2 weapons, the m4 type and Plasmagun, the Double M4 is less precis than the usual m4 and the double plasmagun is not precis at all (for balance with the normal plasmagun). I use double plasmagun against Cyberdemon, Master Spider (from far) or against some ennemies waves....
Each weapons has really his role, the mancubus weapon is pretty helpful too (fun to burn a zombies who go everywhere and burn the other, they start to attack the burnt zombie and then, you can attack them in their back lol :)

I play often the normal DOOM (with mouselook) but Brutal DOOM is a good way to play a faster and very precis gameplay than just classic'... and anyways, maybe DOOM is like a perfect game but it's always fun to have some ideas who can make the game more accurate in some others ways.....

But im happy to see Brutal DOOM v20 is popular, more than before:
https://youtu.be/oSzYliSASKc
The trailer get like 350 000 views and a lot of likes in 1 week...see now.... near 800 000, crazy, im not scared for the community of this mode (:

(sorry for my english again : p
