The latest update has been working great, good job.

There has been something odd though. There's some minor alignment issues and servers in the players list alternate between white and black. Besides that it's been a joy to use.

I guess one thing that would also be handy is the ability to create shortcuts on your desktop from profiles in the Singleplayer tab. That'd be neat.

It looks like Windows XP in classic style (where it tries to look like Windows 9X). That's what I used in XP until finally upgrading to Windows 8 this year.

There's been something that has been bothering me but.. I keep forgetting to report it so here goes...

The Search for servers is sorta bugged. It's almost like I have to toggle search, just for servers to show up.. Even after refreshing the Server Lists. Dunno how this happens but yea..

Also, IDE still don't have the updated flags like DE does. That, and there is no add option for Launch Game Params in Settings on DE.

so what is bugged? it does not show the servers matching the search criteria? or what? can you give an example?

what flags? new zandronum 2.0 dmflags?
IDE will no longer be updated, use Doom Explorer instead
there is no add option for Launch Game Params in Settings on DE
you mean "Additional command-line parameters"?
it support list of previously used parameters. to add new entry to the list, enter parameters and click Apply or OK. though to view changes in list you need to reopen Options. i'll correct it in next version

Well.. Click on search, type in a Server Name, and then click on Highlight All.. Then start up a server matching the servername you typed in Search. Then refresh servers.. the Server will not show up. Toggle Search, and click on Highlight All again. Sometimes it appears then, sometimes not.

Shame that IDE won't be updated anymore. I know quite a few people who still use it. I do sometimes, its a pain to see Unknown Flags when I'm trying to look up a Server's Info though.. Ofc, I just start up Doomseeker or DE then...

Huh, never knew that.. All I see is the remove button. Yea.. it would nice to just have an Add button. Could confuse others whoever use that feature in DE, like Me lol

EDIT: I noticed one other thing. When putting in another line in the box, and hitting apply, it removes the first thing I put in there.

Like for example, i have -file "D:\Doom Ports\Zandronum\skins\NotUsed\XenHudFace-FV4-3WIPTestV3-Temp.pk3" set in there.. Then I go to add just a line with a space in it, so that if I want to play some other mod that has its own hud or such, I can just switch to the blank entry so it don't autoload.

However, upon doing so the second thing, it removes the first. Not really a big deal, but I remember in IDE this did not happen.

That is you use Search as a filter. Isnt it better to setup filter for that? It assumed that the search will be to quickly locate servers with required features.

About this Add button - is it really required? In fact Doom Explorer remember (add) all parameters you add there automatically, you only need to remove them manually if needed

What is in IDE that is absent in Doom Explorer (except habbits)? I tried to implement and improve all IDE features, may be forgot something?

Yup, Doom Explorer has very, very bad issues with Windows Classic theme. I was first to tell bond about it, and then he was like "meh my framework doesnt support, stop using outdated things, use skins, idc".
Using IDE until its completely broken. Skins are horrible and I'm using this gray square classic theme for a reason.

btw: people who have Win8, what happens if you install WindowBlinds and use WB-driven Windows Classic theme?

Well, in IDE.. When you have a Clustername for example in search, and launch another server on that cluster, it shows up when you refresh. This is not the case in DE. I have to usally type the name of the server, just for it to show up after refreshing.

EDIT: I did a stupid :/ I had Filtered in Auto Refresh Server unchecked. Now Search works as it should. My bad

The add button is needed, as I explained in the last post. I go to add another cmd line parm, but upon doing so, it wipes the other one clean off the list. I have no clue why it does this. I simply type in the first one, click apply, then I go to add another line, and click apply, but that wipes the first entry off.

Please return CTF back to the top of the list when sorting by game type, like it was in IDE.
idk for other people but I'm very used to seeing the CTF server on top every time someone plays it.

IDE: CTF on top, yay lets play CTF
DE: CTF lost among tons of shitty coop mods no one cares about, might even go unnoticed

If it's going by alphabetical order (like it should), co-operative is actually supposed to be above CTF, so IDE actually has it on wrong.

EDIT: Unless you rename CTF to Capture The Flag, but that's way too many characters. Just a thought.

it depends on case sensitivity - capital letters go ahead, so IDE do it right way
for unknown reason (for me) this rule is broken in Doom Explorer
and nevetheless its better to do it case insensitive - so it probably will be intact

Hey, kids, look at this guy and never do what he does. If you don't know how to fix a bug, it doesn't mean that the bug is a legit feature now.
I don't believe VCL doesn't have a way to compare two strings case-sensitively. There's binary strcmp after all.

from time to time there appear people who think they know everything..
absolutely can not understand why then we have not an abundance of all sorts of launchers and other helpfull utilities - оnly reasoning and tips (requirements) how to do something
