Armitage, what server you tried? how many wads are loaded there?
it seems default demo name can be too long and zandronum ignore/drop demo recording
try servers with fewer wads, or setup custom demo name

There's nothing shameful about Windows XP. It was the best OS ever, but it is time to change. It is way outdated, and worse yet, it is no longer supported by Microsoft. That means that if any security holes are found, they will not be patched. It still works fine, but you are taking a risk by still using it. If you get Windows 8 and install Classic Shell, it will look and work they way you are used to.

i personally have nothing against windows XP, but the development environment, which i use, may have..
i noticed problem with non-default styles in XP, quite possible there are other problems too
during refresh program starts many threads and performs a lot of work - may be
difference in the performance of certain functions in the different OS can lead to crashes
try to slow down refresh procedure, increase sendelay and servers per socket number for example
i'll try to test it on XP more thoroughly

Eh.. I guess I should lower the refresh rate. This PC is really outdated by now, but I don't have much $$$ to get a new one. XP as well is outdated. Anyhow I should try that. I left it open for awhile yet, and it hasn't errored out, which is odd.

Also, it would be nice if you added back the Rcon Utility shortcut. I was wondering why it didn't work. Would also be nice if someone picked up the program and updated it but.. Doubt that would ever happen.

It's not broken, it works perfectly if the refresh speed is not to fast. Dunno your problem though.

Perhaps your home router is detecting traffic generated by Doom Explorer as UDP flood traffic. We had the same problem with Doomseeker where it failed to refresh servers for a minority of people. One guy fixed that by changing appropriate option in his router configuration. Nevertheless, eventually I reprogrammed the server refresh method in the program itself to be less floody.

Would the traffic be the same for IDE, because IDE works fine, its just Doom Explorer.

Given the fact that Bond has stated that the refresh is now "faster" I assume that the traffic isn't the same for IDE and Doom Explorer.

So i am using Doomseeker for the time being, and i love how it functions. If you are having problems with Doom Explorer, try Doomseeker instead.

I think that's the first time I saw someone say that. Thanks!
