OpenGL mode not working

#1

Post by Virtue » Sun Aug 03, 2014 1:44 am

Hi, Long time user here, I tried to log on to Doomseeker today and join a game, and for some reason any game I join it doesnt even get past the loading/initialization screen.

I managed to play the game manually and run it in software mode which is fine, but I have absolutely no idea why all of a sudden OpenGL doesnt work?

heres the crash report:

https://www.sendspace.com/file/fkbev3

Ill give my PC specs but it shouldnt make any difference as I was playing only the other day on OpenGL mode and it was fine.

Intel Core2duo 6700 running at 3ghz
Windows XP 32-bit
Nvidia Geforce 610 with latest drivers
never mind, i think somehow nvoglnt.dll got corrupted so I redownloaded it and its fine now

Could you post what it says while it is initializing?

Yeah Virtue, I'm having this same problem after moving to a new rig recently. Works in software but not hardware renderer (OpenGL).

https://www.dropbox.com/s/gbd0u2h4m2onf ... Report.zip Here's the crash report.

Specs: (So maybe someone can decipher this issue.)

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
CPU: Intel Core2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13 Ghz
Memory: 4 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT

Hopefully this issue can be resolved sometime?

I ended up removing the card from the Device Manager, uninstalling all Nvidia drivers and reinstalling Zandronum, then reinstalling the Nvidia stuff just to be sure, it worked. I think its a problem with the nvoglnt.dll file, but cant be sure. Try that maybe?

Just out of curiosity, what's the driver version?

This worked for me, glad you told what you did. Because after going about maybe 5 drivers, only an 800x600 windowed would work and it was too tiny for my resolution, or sometimes 4:3 aspect ratio resolutions wouldn't display right (skewed, flashy stretched colors, etc).
