RE: Epic lag.
Wow, a ping of 91003 is quite a bit.
RE: Epic lag.
I think that large negative number is caused by integer overflow, since technically ping time can never be negative.
Hopes: Do you have an AMD dual core?

RE: Epic lag.
I thought a negative ping was caused by a disparency between server time and client time.
RE: Epic lag.
That's also possible. Or if windows corrects the system clock during a ping.

RE: Epic lag.
That still wouldn't explain his horrible lag though, just the negative ping.

What's an AMD dual core?Ænima wrote: That still wouldn't explain his horrible lag though, just the negative ping.
RE: Epic lag.
That made me laugh... Either way an AMD dual core = A CPU (your processor in your computer) with 2 cores, made by AMD (Not Intel).Hopes wrote:What's an AMD dual core?Ænima wrote: That still wouldn't explain his horrible lag though, just the negative ping.
RE: Epic lag.
I know that. But I've heard some rumors about AMD dual cores causing problems in seemingly-unrelated areas.Dragon wrote:That made me laugh... RE: Epic lag.
FYI, the ping measurement is completely independent on the time on the client.one_Two wrote: I thought a negative ping was caused by a disparency between server time and client time.

RE: Epic lag.
From what I can understand, the ping 'result' is sent from server to client as a 16-bit integer (like everything else).
This has a value range of −32,768 to 32,767; anything more or less and it overflows to the other end.
