God, is it normal to play Battlefield 3 and thinking to be on Modern Warfare 3? They're like the exact same thing! :V
Different games? Maybe.
Different players?

One has large scale battlegrounds with more than 16 players on each team, as well as vehicles, the other is limited to small battlegrounds with a maximum of 16 players in one game, and no vehicles.
Exactly the same, definitely! :P

Well, for the gameplay sure it's different. But when comes to players, meh, looks like a CoD clone.

What is the point of this thread? How are two games exactly the same because of the playerbase? I thought what mattered was, uh, the gameplay? They might be similar but who cares. If you want to discuss CoD and battlefield that's fine, but opening a new thread just to post some shitty, overused meme is dumb imho.

They're both similar in that I don't play either one.

The typical player!
Cawadoody (any):
Spawn, shoot someone in the back, get shot in the back.
Battelfeeld (any):
Drive jeep into x, explode c4.

Thank you. It annoys me that someone would make a good rant topic thread. "MEMES ARE THE GREATEST WAY TO SHOWCASE MY POINTS" No It makes you look dumb. You can't use memes in your essay, so don't try them when you're making points about something.

I like BF3 simply because I can play TDM on top of being able to pilot 60+million dollar jets. What's not to love?!

I liked BF3. The large scale maps, vehicles, and destructible environments made it very enjoyable. The single player storyline was lacking though. Perhaps I never noticed the trolls since I don't use voice chat on the PC version. The one thing I don't like is the BF series starting to latch onto that "Call of Duty Elite subscription" mentality.

I prefer BF because of its PC heritage and having big old lan matches on BF2/1942, last COD I played was "World at War" (I think it was called) and was really put off by the weapons in game. But yeah I think the scale of the games is the biggest separating factor, they probably see each other as competition though.

Sadly, this is quite the opposite. Call of Duty did not start with the Elite stuff until Modern Warfare 3, which came out a year after Battlefield 3 did. (It came out about the same time Black Ops 1 did, which did NOT include CoD:Elite)
So, in actuality, CoD followed BF3, not the other way around.

What are you smoking?
Cawadoody MW3 was released 13 days after BF3, and Elite was announced well in advance - it public beta'd for Blops1 on 360 in July.

I absolutely hate matchmaking. I prefer bf3 over cod for this reason alone. I also prefer bf3 over cod because bf3 actually uses ballistics physics and not hitscan for every weapon. Bf3 also does not have any type of kill streaks, causing players to rely solely on their prospective teamwork and skill to win. I also never get gangraped by the host just because of his connectivity, I never get spawn killed in home base (that does happen in tdm), and I never get frustrated by people using modded controllers. Frankly, to call them the same game is to admit you never really played either.
Edit: Also, I've never heard anyone toss out racial slurs in bf3 because they were using a tank.

this pretty much, this thread is rather pointless.
