So, as some people know by now (it's in IRC), BE will be down for a week or three. What happened, anyway?

If you want the bitfields, just start a server using Doomseeker, select the flags you want to apply, and then copy the bitfields at the bottom into a text file or something. If you already have a server with the flags you want, just type dmflags\dmflags2\3 or compatflags\compatflags2 in the console and it should display the bitfield.

Hey guys,

The servers are not going anywhere. They will be relocated to California in about two weeks (or sooner depending on productivity). We also plan to fix up a bunch of bugs before the bot goes live again.

With that said, users will have to re-register on the website to be able to host servers.

Well truth to be told that kind of sucks for anything east of there, since it's about three thousand kilometers further away.

Though what else can I say, it's still incredibly useful nonetheless.

70 ping is fine, and I'm on the east coast.

Well I'll probably get something like +80 ping, which makes the ~120 I already have go up to around 200. Which isn't exactly good.

Yeah, a lot of Euros are taking quite a large hit from this move.

However, I think I understand why this is happening: There's too few (if any) servers on the west coast.

Actually, the move was because I was planning to migrate BE over to my current server in California which hosts a few others things. However, I've decided to instead migrate everything to one giant server on the east coast. Here are the specifications:

Intel Xeon E3 1245v2
32GB DDR3 RAM
2x 250GB Harddrives (for RAID 1)
10TB Bandwidth on a 100Mbit port

This should allow us to change our server limit from 60 to something around 150.

I'll provide a test IP once everything is set up.

*drools*

Looks like Zandro gets treated pretty well for this area, what with this, Spak City, and FC+ being crammed into around here

Server is set up, you can ping 108.61.83.66 to test your ping.

Here's a picture of it for anyone who cares (nobody):

I'll probably be taking this time to fix up bugs and add a bunch of features, so expect it up sometime soon!

Had me excited for some quality west coast servers. 83 ping isn't bad though :P

"This sorta situation gettin' kinda bad." "Kinda bad? This here's horrible we're gonna DIE!" "Yeah but I ain't worried." "How is you ain't worried?" "'Cus you can smack 'em all with yo dang-a-lang." "Oh snap, you're right." *whips out BFG*
I'm in game as CubedSoul.
Also we need a BFG similar to beta Doom, other words a Christmas gun.

Almost done!

I've also slightly changed how server hosting works. Here are the changes:

The mapwad option is the new wad option. Only use this if the wad you specify has maps in it. (wad= is now mapwad=)
The nwad option has now become the default wad option. This will not check for maps. (nwad= is now wad=)
The bot will not add default configuration files on a per gamemode, however, default configuration files will be added to the config repository (so you can do something like config=ctf.cfg).
You can add multiple configuration files.

All of the changes are reflected on the main website.
