Idea: Support for voxels - Specifically, voxel view models

I know this is a really niche feature, but for some people (like me) it's easier to model voxel guns than to sprite them. What I'm thinking is having a weapon class that allows the creation of voxel weapons similar to those in Ace of Spades. (Example)

Some of you may think that looks horrible, but some people (again, like me) really like the aesthetics of voxels. I know Zandronum is trying to be different from the other source ports, and I think something like this would be a very distinguishing feature.

I remember Spleen was replacing a lot of the hexen drops with voxel models. I'm pretty sure he'd approve and agree with this.

ZDoom already supports voxels. So who knows if Zandronum will catch up with the revisions it might include voxels.

We're on 2.3.0 right? I don't think it'd be unreasonable to catch up to Zdoom within a decent time.

Zandronum is based on Zdoom revision 1551, with some random backports, Zdoom is on r3684, thats ~2133 revisions to backport into Zandronum, and its not easy in some cases to just backport Zdoom code, because a lot of it has to be edited to work in multiplayer.

Can Zandronum catch up to Zdoom? Possibly, but it wont be easy and it'll take a very long time to get their.

Right, right. I guess I should've said "within a couple years" to be more accurate than "a decent time." I just don't think anyone's gonna assume we can just throw the revisions in like it's magic and bugcheck the hell out of it. But thanks for clarifying.
