I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
Hi guys, I have been playing Doomseeker servers for Zandronum for a long time, but at the same time I have tried to create my own server. I have failed several times in this vision of creating a server and have read many tutorials on how to open ports and such things, but it has never worked. Please can you help me create my own server
Re: I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
Might help to post a little bit more information. Can you show your port configuration? Can you show us what your server settings are on DoomSeeker? Can you post a log of the server when you create it in DoomSeeker?
Remember that you are unique, just like everyone else.
Re: I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
Here I leave you the screenshots of the configuration of the attempt to open a port of my router, the capture of the Doomseeker configuration and a capture of the resource monitor.
I recently read that the firewall may not allow the connection and I would notice and allow the connection of the zandronum and the doomseeker.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong?

"Emitir a la LAN" will cause your server to only show on the local connection and thus, will not show for everyone else in Doomseeker. Take that off.
Make sure you're port forwarded the range 10666 to 10700, and not just 10666. Also ensure that both TCP and UDP are forwarded, and not just UDP.
It helps to have Zandronum set as a firewall exception, yes.
If none of that works, try disabling UPnP in DoomSeeker's server creator.
If still not working, try enabling UPnP on your router configuration, and UPnP in DoomSeeker. I think if you enable UPnP in DS, you need to set it to the same port (10666), however I'm not 100% sure on that one.

I'm still stuck on the same problem.
I already tried disabling UPnP and turning it on again.
Also my Firewall doesn't block zandronum connection.
I do not know if I am doing well the steps to follow. Because in reality I have already tried everything and nothing works so I went to the sacred community of knowing of zandronum.
This is what I get in the console:

I do not know what to do
Re: I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
"NAT discovery error: Fail to find an UPNP NAT."
So you are still using UPnP.
So you are still using UPnP.
Re: I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
Yes, I am still using UPnP and I have it active on the Doomseeker server.
I had already disabled it, as Buu342 told me, but it still doesn't work.
I don't know if I did something wrong.

Re: I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
I am also finding out the same. When I read about how to create these magnificent servers, I am even more confused.
Re: I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
Try hosting with +sv_showlauncherqueries 1.
If another ip is displayed, it is displayed on the master server.
Disable "Emitir a la LAN" only when the server is outside.

Re: I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
This is incorrect. This option only controls whether the server will broadcasts its presence on the LAN's broadcast address. It doesn't control anything else. It doesn't hide the server from the public, neither when enabled nor disabled. The other option that sits right next to it, "Emitir a Master" controls that and this option is enabled.
Re: I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
I still can't host my server, nothing works.

Re: I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
The truth that to be honest there is no answer that works, I would say that you give up and play other things. Because based on my experience at zandronum and doomseeker the community will not give you much support in helping you.
Re: I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
UPnP needs to be configured on router and windows.
In Windows, please set according to this.
https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001367.htm
Zandronum should allow all ports, not just 10666, in the firewall settings.
If you don't use UPnP, please do the port forwarding on the router side

it doesn't work.
Re: I need help creating my own server in Doomseeker
Iirc, you have to add a custom server using your local IP for it to show on your side and allow you to connect to it, other people will probably be able to see and connect already. I have no idea how to do it in Doomseeker as I use Doom Explorer but it most likely has something similar in its settings.
Theres an option in Doom Explorer that searches for LAN servers automatically so you don't have to add the ip:port to the list:
You could also enable DMZ in your router settings and that takes away all the hassle of opening ports but I wouldn't recommend it, its more of a last ditch thing.
Spoiler: (Open)Basically just add your local IP:portnumber(typically 10666 or 10667, also depends on how many servers you're hosting) to this custom server list in Doomseeker for it to show.

Spoiler: (Open)Again, Doomseeker probably has this option too just have a look around in its main settings. Its not the broadcast to LAN checkmark on hosting one but you should enable that anyway.
