Air Control Issues
Ever since I started hosting servers for Skulltag back almost a decade ago now, I've consistently faced this issue of air control not behaving in the desired way. Id est, people are sliding through the air (this also occurs in deep water areas too) uncontrollably and all these years later I still don't know what to do to fix this. Help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Air Control Issues
Try toggling the "compat_limitedairmovement" console variable, and maybe toy with "sv_aircontrol" which behaves different ways depending on the other variable.

Re: Air Control Issues
I've already tried that numerous times with no different settings but all attempts have been in vain.
On that note, I made very perplexing discovery yesterday while searching for a solution and testing the SJAS' flight in Ghouls VS Humans.
Rather than explain it, I uploaded a video on it.

Did you ever try to play around with the land/fly commands when that happens?

Re: Air Control Issues
boy embed ur video like a technological man. this video is also too boring. Action starts at 2:30
lol nice behavior. Reminds me of trying to fly through the air in zdoomwars with plasma bump on. We need more details obv tho. Post all the wads and server settings + compatflags (minimal example wad xd). It better be an engine bug and not something easy if its been 10 years got DANG

Re: Air Control Issues
Looking at that video, seems like something got borked in the round reset. The behavior is very similar to what happens when you're in a zero gravity sector (but aren't flying), or when a sector has no friction. I don't think this has anything to do with actual air control itself. (Thus why the air control setting does nothing.)

Re: Air Control Issues
I actually don't know how to embed a video. D:
As for the server settings and PWADs they're irrelevant.
I used GvH as a platform to demonstrate the problem I'm having.
On slightly further investigation, I've randomly discovered that it is a ZACOMPATFLAG that is causing this strange issue.
Addendum: On even further investigation it seems to specifically be the flag "Always use the original radius damage code (infinite height)[16777216]".

Re: Air Control Issues
Addendum 2: The problem still persists in GvH.

Re: Air Control Issues
Addendum 3: It appears the zacompatflag "Allow the map01 Plasma Bump Bug" is the main cause.
Odd.
