Problem is, there isn't one. That channel has become the cancer that I prefer not to idle in. I tend to be AFK when the worst of it happens, but usually the stupidity flings around in mid afternoon right up to the evening during EST hours. If someone who is available at these hours at least get rid of the core of the stupidity at the time...

Write a script that automatically +m's the channel at that time period.

Well, I think that muting and banning #Zandronum would result in spam coming to other channels, and forum possibly. I think that holding all that idiotism in one channel would be alot better.

I have to agree with this though. I've come in on too much stupidity. Links to asinine videos, discussions about weird fetishes, things I didn't even think were necessary for discussion; the list goes on.

I personally would see to it - a clean up of retards in the channel. Take it somewhere else. about 5% of the time, something relevant will be posted, and that's just for velocity ctf, or pub.

Does anyone remember when a seperate channel was set up for general discussion back then? Perhaps a #STUPID isn't a bad idea.

No, it never happen officially; not even during the final days of the OFTC era back in 2009.

I was almost certain it did, I remember a "don't talk about shit that isn't doom" rule which everyone circumvented by just tossing the word Doom somewhere in their messages :P

It must have happen before 2008 or between 2010-2011 because I've never seen such channel.

Oh this was like, 2005, on Skulltag Online which was a Doom Connector clone specifically designed for Skulltag.

Neither have I.
Pretty much a lot of the talk was in #skulltag.

There's a reason I never go to #zandronum, it's a waste of space... but at least it keeps the retardation congregated in one area.

I don't read it much unless I'm highlighted and usually when that happens there are good conversations going on there. I don't know, there could be a "bot" to spread a discussion topic there at random intervals to prevent the retarded topics being out. I can think it working well.

This would be a good idea. I don't want it like HEAVILY moderated, I just want the trash taken out. I certainly don't mind idle chat in there, it's just when it gets to the point where you're getting a headache reading some of the stuff in there, is when the line needs to be drawn.
