Zandronum

Project backround: Well, the main objective of this wad is to honor and worship the all-powerful weapon: the shotgun! Every single slot is replaced with a shotgun-like weapon, and so are some of the enemies and their projectiles. This wad was posted on the zandronum forums on 12/01/15.

All in all this wad is very comical with its gameplay: You have a bountiful amount of health, the monsters fire shotguns [or dies and spawns shotguns, or are actual shotguns, etc.]. The weapons are satisfying to use [especially the shotgunsaw] and the plasmashotgun rifle and shotgun launcher are both unique weapons that made me laugh quite a bit. The novelty of this wad keeps the fun going for quite a while, especially in multiplayer.


Rating

Fun Factor: 9/10 - Probably grows old after some time, but you can easily kill a few hours with this piece.

Balance: 8/10 - The shotgun launcher's a bit powerful in my opinion, but all the weapons are pretty decently balanced.

Creativity: 9/10 - A fine tribute to the grand weapon that is known as the shotgun.

Replay value: 7/10 - All novelty wads unfortunately lose its replay after a while, they can only last so long; luckily this one lasts longer than others!

Total rating: 8/10
