Big changes! Very important

Hi all,

There's a big change thats effective today.

I am officially announcing that I am stepping down from being head admin of zandronum and resigning from zandronum staff. Main reason why I am doing this is to free up some more time so I can work on TSPG more. I do feel as it is needed in order to progress zandronum to become better.

You would of seen that nax (in a different thread) has some big ideas hes eager to try out to see if we can restore this place to its former glory and we all decided that if hes going to do that, hes going to need the kings chair and as such I have promoted him to head admin.

There is a few things that i'll still need admin access on to finish off (like an official discord and new irc server) but otherwise, @nax , its all yours. Congrats.

As I had said before, thank you for your contributions. You were handed the raw deal when you took over and yet you held everything together. One thing hosting a minor cluster to TSPG to Zandronum Staff itself that I've felt is that I want to see the community flourish. Doom still has life left in it even if things have felt bleak. Zalewa had a site that had usage statistics and honestly it's not nearly as bleak as you'd think, but it's definitely stagnant. I think there are some things we can do to encourage activity again.

Decay made a thread recently and it was shocking to me how similar his line of thinking was to my own. I've been considering the things that would be required to help get the momentum back toward creation and content as I believe these are the things that make Zandronum something worth investing time into. The online component is, as always, what sets it apart from other game ports and even other older games that still have modding communities. I'm absolutely committed toward providing a landing point for Zandronum that allows all of us a quick link to our site that entices anyone to at least try it out. To this effect I'll be relying on many community members who've had a long history of providing and aiding content for Zandronum since its inception.

In the end, we need everyone's help. We need people who want to pursue more Zandronum events, we need people who want to showcase the wonderful content Zandronum already has available, and we need people who have that mapping or modding passion reignited for the doom port with the best modding and online experience of the rest. Please feel free to PM me with questions or comments about going forward or if you're interested in reinvigorating Zandronum's community - being a community means we need help from everyone to make the community we want.

Thank you!

The site is actually still alive, it's just the co.nr domain provider that decided to stop providing the domains. Currently you can access the site through http://zalewa.strangled.net/doomstats until I figure out a new domain.
