I'm not sure either, but it's what the people voted for! The mod itself works fine, so I don't see any technical problems happening.

Try the fact that there's going to be a mountain of entities for the server to keep track of. Fractal Doom would be fun alone, but multiplying the engine load by ~15 players is going to be a laggy hell more likely than not.

Fractal Doom performs well, a lot better than you think. Since everything's mostly vanilla-ish monsters without gibs there isn't really that much there. We've had games with 10 or so people and almost 2k mini imps on BE that had playable framerates.
The only thing that really causes lag is if everyone spams plasma altfire at once, and it's only temporary. Used to cause people to miss enough packets to DC in earlier versions though.
