The Aliens franchise vs the DOOM series. Who do you think would win?

I think Doom would win, since it has more in it, (not counting the custom material) and the fact that Doom only has one incompetent corporation instead of two.

Aliens? Pssh, Doomguy is the Champ of slaughter. His kill count is the highest of any franchise. He's killed pint-sized demons, and huge otherworldly monstrosites. Most being taller than their hitbox.

He's survived through more dimensions, he's probably once in his life visited the Barbie Dimension just to cause some hell, or get new skins.

Funny how Doom was originally going to be an Aliens game but decided against it to keep creative control. They kept the futuristic atmosphere and dark, claustrophobic setting and added Demons based on the D&D campaign the guys were playing at the time.

Well obviously the irl Alien franchise is bigger than the Doom series.

Alien's acid cant do anything to demons and most demons have high speed and are bulky.. Even a queen will get instagibbed by a cyber

Doom 3 : Imps already similar in movement to them.. guess super agile xeno that can shoot fire from its tail and acid from its mouth :P

I can only imagine what would happen if a Facehugger got a Doom Space Marine. The resulting Xenomorph would be bright green, have 4 frames of animation, and scream like a puss upon death, if it doesn't blow itself up.

Still nothing compared to xenoviles..

Demons trump aliens in brute force - even the lowliest of their troops have both offensive or defensive power comparable to those of average alien, while highest-level troops are basically tanks on steroids.

Aliens trump demons in mobility and intellect. Any alien has vastly higher speed and maneurability, while even if we assume that they don't have an intellect capable of teamwork and situation analysis, it's still way better than demons simply because they don't always charge headlong screaming at the target.

Who said that aliens acid won't do anything against demons? That shit can melt metal, it's pretty tough, I can't see why demonic tissue should shrug it off.

Aliens are much more fast and vicious in melee, they can shred low-level demons with ease. And while they can be shredded just as easily, good luck hitting them! Demons aren't exactly marksmen. Even the higher-level demons are subject to a Death of a Thousand Cuts. Every creature has weak spots - aliens will sooner or later figure them out and attack them and win.

Or utterly fail to figure them out and just defeat them by sheer body mass.

And finally, if the possibiltiy of a xenovile through a facehugger is indeed plausible... yes, this will be an undoubtable win for aliens. The possibilties of such symbiosis are endless.

The victory of such a battle depends majorly on the exact situation, namely two factors: battlefield openness and demon forces buildup. Does the battle happen in large, open spaces? Tough day for aliens. Does the battle happens in a maze-like base or something? They'll just have a field day on demons. Does the demon army consist mostly of low-end demons? Aliens will shred them. Does the demon army consist mostly of high-end bruisers? The battle will be difficult for aliens.

All in all, I say that the balance between aliens and demons is not clear-cut, but I have my vote on aliens here.

Now, let's stop comparing only enemies and compare protagonists, since we discuss the battle of the franchises and not just monsters.

Space marine? Higher mobility, headbites are not always directly fatal for him, literally a one-man army.

Colonial marine? Radar, less one-man army but still.

Obviously, space marine trumps colonial one by a notch on his own.

Who has better weapons?

Depends greatly on exact game we take it from. In the DOS Aliens game, the tools that are given to Colonial Marine disposal are mostly pea shooters. However, in AvP series, the guy packs a punch. I'd say that his weapons there are BETTER than what Doomguy got - face it, the minigun and that disc launcher magic thing pretty much trumps even BFG.

Most importantly, colonial marine weapons are faster than Doomguy's. And then there is the super autoaim smart gun, which would just shred doomguy. He does show a particular vulnerability for bullets and explosives.

Depending on whom we pit the heroes against, we get these results...

vs demons? Doomguy wins on the virtue of larger mobility and far greater crowd control capabilities(bfg).

vs aliens? Hard to say, doomguy has more mobility, but his BFG will probably be too slow for aliens, meaning he loses much of his crowd control. And colonial marine's weapons are faster, which is a plus against glass cannon aliens. Also note that radar is really useful against aliens, and doomguy doesn't have it.

vs each other? Colonial marine wins on the virtue of smartgun. Also radar.


So yeah. Overall, the outcome of this depends very much on various factors. In total, I call this an even battle.

Now, for something more interesting: predators vs demons?

I find it amusing that I am literally the only person who voted for Alien.
