What is the point of making an "I-desperately-crave-for-attention" thread in the community which sits all days on IRC, where you can ask them exact same thing alone via PM and without other people staring at you with those 'what exactly is wrong with your brain if you have to ask about that' looks on their faces

Nah, you get the percentage wrong. It's 10% serious questions and 90% wololo questions. Not even sure if 10% isn't too generous. Well, wait a second I'm gonna count all wololo questions and all 'might be serious' questions.
Edit: first two pages: 30 lolquestions, 1 'might be serious' question. Do I really need to write the conclusions ._.
And next edit: 5 pages, 70 lolquestions, 5 'might be serious'. Yup, 10% is too generous. Same effects could be achieved if he just came to #zandobando and yelled in caps 'hey people ask me a question'

By all means. No one is telling you to read them if you think that way though. I do not think these are bad at all. however if you got someone like xrgman doing this and doing it silly, I can see why you do not like them.

1: don't belong to Zandobando
2: have their own land known as Reddit
3: occupy the 'new posts' section which in turn makes it harder for us to find threads with actual value, such as new mod relases and this sort of stuff
4: aren't that much needed, considering that everyone has IRC client in their IDE Doomseeker and whatnot
5: are useless, considering that on this forum we can just PM each other if we have some question
6: contain only 10% of useful posts, while rest is just 'What is love?' or 'What is your forum password?'

1. If they don't belong, then they wouldn't be playing doom at all.
2. What is reddit? I guess it is for no-lifers?
3. If you are looking for new mod updates, then just look in the subforum, you do know where that is, right?
4. Those means of communication is not archived at all, and is not for permanent public display.
5. They got a use, look in Mifu's AMA, I asked a question, that got a reply that can cover this better than me.
6. Again, read Mifu's response on my question, it cover more than I can.

Another little point, this thread also fills the new posts section, and it isn't a mod update, so just where is your logic?
