BTW, just curious about how people feel ... If I were to, hypothetically, put a pony-related easter egg in a map (SFW of course), would that be frowned upon? I mean, if it's behind a secret door or something. So it wouldn't be as if players were "forced" to see it, but it's still kinda ... there.

I understand it's not breaking the rules, but I wouldn't want to rustle too many people's jimmies because I know there's a lot of people in this community who are judgemental for no real reason and will blow things out of proportion just because they like seeing drama happen.

I understand there's a fine line between "flaunting" and merely expressing your affiliation with something. And it's unjustified to harass somebody just because of the latter. But even if that person hasn't done anything other than having a furry/brony avatar or releasing a furry/brony skin, they must realize that doing so will unavoidably excite the peanut gallery and they must be prepared to deal with the hate speech.

But that applies to pretty much anywhere on the internet right now, not just Doom.

The way I see it, I don't care what fandom you're a part of. Ponies, Sonic, Doom, wrestling, Touhou, metal, drugs, Ghouls VS Humans, man, whatever. As long as you're not a douche, you're cool with me.
If you want an easter egg, put it in there. Saying you're planning on it kind of spoils the surprise, anyway.

While I agree with most of your post and I don't disagree that the "peanut gallery" aspect is a thing, I'd like to note that real hate speech is much, much worse than what you've described.

To add to the discussion, I'll reiterate some talking points from when I've discussed this in the past with others:

• people have a right to have opinions, and to be offended by whatever irks them, just like how people have a right to feel any other emotion
• being offended does not make you special; it does not give you special powers, it does not allow you to be protected from second hand insults and inflamed sensitivities
• no one has the right to not be offended; people can't claim they have a right to not be offended when freedom of speech is prevalent
• nobody will ever be granted special rights simply because they are offended
• people shouldn't purposely try to offend others
• no one should make a mountain out of a molehill, etc

Was this for an actual core feature or just a wad? I don't understand what's going on.. If this was only a wad I don't see what the issue is..

It's a split of a discussion about the deletion of another thread.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with Zandronum itself or any mods that work with it.

Actually it was about a WAD. This WAD. The thread provoked these replies and was initially trashed for that. It has since been restored and locked to prevent the same thing from happening again.

It still confuses me to see an Igor post.. In Igor's dungeon (read: trash)!

And eh, semantics. It was more about the dislike of the source material of the wad than the wad itself.
